An Evening of Exchanging Experiences with Kieran Drake - Deputy Ambassador to the British Embassy in Berlin
The new Deputy Ambassador of the British Embassy in Berlin, Kieran Drake, introduced himself with an evening of networking in Dresden. The envoy of the United Kingdom followed an invitation of the British Honorary Consul Prof. Dr. Hans Müller-Steinhagen, the Federal Association for Small-to-Medium-Sized Business in Saxony, represented by Antje Hermenau, as well as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jochen Grossmann, founder of the GICON Group.
In her welcoming speech, Antje Hermenau, Senate Representative of the BVMW, pointed out the importance of close cooperation between British and Saxon companies. Honorary Consul Prof. Dr. Müller-Steinhagen, the initiator of the evening, thanked the Deputy Ambassador for making his first official business trip to Dresden and the Free State of Saxony. In his speech, he also described the bridge that joint work in science, business and politics can build. In his statement to around 60 invited guests, Kieran Drake, as Deputy Head of Mission, emphasized the close and historical ties between Great Britain and the Free State of Saxony and offered his assistance and support for projects in all areas.
In a key lecture lasting almost half an hour, GICON founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jochen Grossmann explained to the guests how important it is, especially for Saxony's small and medium-sized enterprises, to pursue their own technology development. The group's engineers are currently involved in biogas projects and wind farm developments in the UK, among other projects. "We have successfully launched various plans for wind farms in Scotland with our floating substructure, the GICON® SOF. This strengthens our goal of advancing the energy transition and creates local jobs. We want to live technology partnership."
GICON® has been an internationally operating association of independent engineering service providers for more than 25 years and is present in the field of wind farm development with GICON® Limited, which has an office in the UK (Bristol).
The GICON® Group will be part of the UN Climate Conference in Glasgow from 31 October – 12 November and will report on the engineering possibilities for climate protection.
