GICON® Group shows its entire spectrum at three events.
GICON® experts will be welcoming you until October 14 at Floating Offshore Wind in Aberdeen, the Marktredwitz Soil Protection Days and the international congress "Progress in Biomethane Mobility".
Floating Offshore Wind 2022 (October 12-13 - Aberdeen)
Energy production from renewable sources at sea is one of the goals of engineers and developers worldwide. On the one hand, it is about the reduction of CO2 and, on the other hand, about the self-sufficient operation of platforms, for the extraction and industrial processing of raw materials directly at sea, for example for the oil & gas industry. In the past years, GICON®'s Wind Engineering Dept. has worked intensively and successfully on concept development for such platforms. These will now be presented at Floating Offshore Wind 2022 in Aberdeen, Scotland. GICON® can be found at booth B14 at P&J Live in Aberdeen.
Self-sufficient energy development is main focus
The oil & gas industry, as well as other industries, have made it their mission to make their production low in CO2 output. For this reason, energy generation for oil & gas platforms is to be accomplished through the use of wind energy. This enables a micro-grid and eliminates the need for fossil fuels on site. Surplus energy is stored in battery storage for later use.
GICON® - pioneer for floating TLP platforms
For almost 15 years, the GICON® Group has pioneered the development of floating substructures for wind turbines. "TLP structures have the advantage of being immensely stable, favoring worldwide deployment in deep waters and on steeply sloping coasts. In addition, our development of a floating substructure, the GICON®-SOF, requires a low material input and we can thus already achieve power generation costs comparable to fixed-based offshore turbines," describes Dr. Frank Adam. GICON® has also established a strategic partnership with the US company Glosten for further development in recent years to advance joint efforts for the commercial implementation of floating TLP structures.
Marktredwitz Soil Protection Days (October 12 – 14, Marktredwitz)
Preventive soil protection in the context of construction projects is becoming increasingly important from an ecological and economic point of view. Increasingly large areas of soil are affected by construction activities, both in urban and rural areas. Soil protection during construction can only be integrated in a meaningful way if soil protection measures are already taken into account in the planning phase by means of suitable soil protection concepts. BGD ECOSAX GmbH will be presenting the range of services possible here at the 11th Annual Marktredwitz Soil Protection Days from October 12 to 14 in Marktredwitz, Upper Franconia. On site, you can talk to our experts as well as our certified soil expert for construction, Matthias Hoyer.
Dr. Philipp Dost, Head of the Department of Water Management/Hydraulic Engineering will give a lecture on "Solutions for the rewetting of degraded fens in the FFH area "Seewald", Brandenburg".
Progress in Biomethane Mobility (October 11 – 13, Schwäbisch Hall)
With the two topics "Biological methanation using the GICON® trickle bed process - an upgrade for conventional biogas plants enables the production of "green" natural gas" as well as "Experiences from the planning and construction process for 30 planned biomethane plants", the GICON® Group will present itself at the three-day international congress "Progress in Biomethane Mobility" in Schwäbisch Hall, Baden-Württemberg.
GICON® thus underlines its position as one of the leading engineering companies in the technology field of biomethane. This so-called "green natural gas", produced from domestic sources, plays a strategically important role in the transition to a climate-neutral economy and energy supply that is more independent of foreign countries. The conference is organized by IBBK Fachgruppe Biogas GmbH (IBBK - International Biogas and Bioenergy Competence Center). GICON® will also be present as an exhibitor during the conference.
