GICON® plans Hybrid Power Plant in Malaysia
GICON® will design and, together with its partner, construct Malaysia’s first fully integrated ecological hybrid power plant for the Malaysian company Semarak Renewable Energy Sdn. Bhd. (Semarak RE). In doing so, GICON® can leverage its strengths as a full-service provider in line with its motto – Engineering the Future.
In mid-March, GICON® was commissioned by the Malaysian energy specialist Semarak RE to build a hybrid power plant. The plant will combine various renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaics, wind, and geothermal energy, with hydrogen and biogas production to ensure a stable energy supply.
Both companies have agreed on the following key areas of focus:
- Feasibility study for all renewable energy technologies
- Environmental impact assessments
- Integration plan for the hybrid power plant
The hybrid power plant will be developed on a 1,300-hectare site and is expected to generate its first green electricity and produce sustainable fuels by 2028.
